Tips and Herbs for Breast Feeding Mamas

As a mother who breast feeds and has always had on and off trouble with milk production, I understand how hard it can be to keep that "supply" up. I (like many other new moms) have searched high and low and have tried many things to help with this issue. It's true what you hear: water, Fenugreek herbal supplements, and Mother's Milk herbal tea have been the best things that work for me.

However, there are also a lot of things that we do that HINDER our milk supply. Here's a link to KellyMom.com that explains things you should stay away from as a breast feeding mother: http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/herbs_to_avoid/

Also, if you're into the herbal scene, there's a really great book that has given us a lot of good info for herbals to use for pregnancy, new mothers, and just in general. It's called "Making Babies". It's full of lots of other fantastic info as well about making babies and taking care of babies (as well as yourself).

Hopefully, this helps in your quest for better milk making!
